Navigating the Dashboard

Dashboard Layout

The Qik admin dashboard uses a two-column layout: a fixed sidebar on the left for navigation, and the main content area on the right where pages and tools are displayed.

The Sidebar Menu

The sidebar is your primary way of navigating the platform. It displays your organisation's name at the top, followed by a list of sections. Each section is represented by an icon and label. The active section is highlighted so you always know where you are.

The available sections are:

  • Overview — Your home page with a personalised greeting, upcoming assignments, recent events, and quick links
  • Apps — Manage your interfaces (websites/apps), applications, and SSL certificates
  • People — Manage profiles (records about people) and users (people who can log in)
  • Groups — Manage organisational units, teams, and group hierarchies
  • Events — Create and manage events, calendars, rosters, check-ins, and ticketing
  • Forms — Build custom forms and manage submissions
  • Workflows — Define and manage kanban-style workflow processes
  • Content — Manage custom content types, articles, tags, and definitions
  • Files & Media — Upload and manage files, images, videos, and audio
  • Messaging — Create email campaigns, manage topics, and send SMS
  • Payments — Track transactions, products, and purchases
  • Access Control — Manage users, roles, policies, and permissions
  • Developer — Custom actions, time triggers, event listeners, and webhooks
  • System — View logs, manage integrations, and system settings

Note: You will only see sections that are enabled for your organisation and that you have permission to access. If a section doesn't appear, it may be disabled or you may not have the required permissions.

The Home Page

When you first open the dashboard, you land on the Overview page. This provides:

  • A personalised time-based greeting (Good Morning, Good Afternoon, etc.)
  • Your Assignments — If you have a profile linked to your account, you'll see upcoming roster assignments for the next 12 weeks, with options to confirm or decline
  • Availability — Manage your blockout dates to mark when you're unavailable
  • Upcoming Events — Events happening in the next 90 days
  • Past Events — Events from the last 6 months
  • Quick Links — Import CSV, learning resources, API documentation, and support

Top Navigation Bar

The top bar provides tools available from any page:

  • Search — A global search bar that searches across all content types. Use the type selector to narrow your search to a specific type.
  • Notifications — A bell icon showing unread notification count. Click to view recent notifications.
  • Dark Mode — Toggle between light and dark themes
  • User Menu — Access your profile, switch organisations, adjust settings, or log out

Navigating to Content

There are several ways to get to a specific item:

  • Sidebar → Section → List — Navigate via the sidebar to browse a section, then click an item
  • Global Search — Type a name or keyword in the search bar to find items across all types
  • Smart Lists — Use saved filtered views from any section page
  • Direct Links — Click links in notifications, emails, or other items to go directly to content
