Check-ins and Attendance

Overview

The check-in system in Qik allows you to track who attended your events. When check-in is enabled for your organisation, you can record attendance for any event, view attendance history, and generate reports.

Enabling Check-ins

Check-in functionality is a feature that needs to be enabled for your organisation. Once enabled, check-in options will appear on events and in the Events section of the dashboard.

Checking Someone In

There are several ways to check someone into an event:

  • From the event — Open the event and use the check-in interface to search for and check in attendees
  • From a profile — Open a person's profile and create a check-in record linked to a specific event
  • Via SMS — If SMS check-in is configured, attendees can check in by responding to an SMS message

Check-in Records

Each check-in record captures:

  • Profile — The person being checked in
  • Event — The event they're attending
  • Check-in date/time — When they arrived
  • Checkout date/time — When they left (optional)
  • Session — Which session of the event (if applicable)

Viewing Attendance

You can view attendance data from several places:

  • Event detail view — See everyone who attended a specific event
  • Profile timeline — See a person's attendance history across events
  • Check-ins list — Browse all check-in records from the Events section, with filtering and sorting options

Attendance Reports

Use smart lists and filters to generate attendance reports. You can filter check-in records by:

  • Date range
  • Specific events or event types
  • Individual profiles

Export filtered results to CSV for further analysis or reporting.

Checking Out

If you need to track not just arrival but also departure, you can check people out after they've been checked in. This records the checkout time on the existing check-in record, allowing you to calculate duration of attendance.
